Akshay played the titular role of a decorated naval officer facing murder allegations of his wife's lover in the 2016 blockbuster, which was supposedly inspired on the now-famous K.M Nanavati vs State of Maharashtra case. The film depicted the narrative of a defence personnel divided between his personal and professional lives, and Kumar did an outstanding job portraying the typical patriotic officer who puts his country above everything else.
